Kelley, Zachary Meier, Russell Schaff, Max Heinzmann, Kirill Polyanskiy, and Adrienne Fountain, performed by faculty and students. March 5 at 11am in Kimbrough Concert Hall.\n\nThursday, March 3\n\nFaculty Composers Concert\n\n8:00pm Bryan Hall Theatre\n\nFriday, March 4\n\nElectroacoustic Concert\n\n3:00pm Kimbrough Concert Hall\n\nThe 2016 FOCAM Electroacoustic Music Concert will include music by WSU graduate student Lindsay Greene and faculty member Scott Blasco, Estonian composer Mirjam Tally, and renowned French composer Éliane Radigue. \n\nGreene’s “Still” and Tally’s “Blow” both use recorded sounds from the composers’ surroundings to craft time through abstract and imaginative texture and color combinations, while Blasco’s “Stand at the Abyss” uses the composer’s own voice as its sound source, stretched and manipulated into a slowly-evolving soundscape. Radigue, a giant of electronic music, uses only a synthesizer rather than recorded sounds. Her “CHRY-PTUS” combines two unsynchronized drone-based tracks to create an arresting, immersive sound world that seems at once constantly shifting and unchanging.\n\nThis concert will last approximately 50 minutes,\n\n \n\nTuesday, March 8\n\nGuest Ensemble Concert\n\n8:00pm Bryan Hall Theatre\n\nContemporary cello, guitar, bassoon. Recent and established masterworks.
