DESCRIPTION:Three Minute Thesis is a research communication competition challenging Ph.D. students to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance in three minutes or less to a non-technical audience.\n\n3MT is not an exercise in trivializing or “dumbing-down” research, but challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a wider audience.\n\nOpen to all doctoral candidates in good standing who have completed preliminary exams by the nomination deadline.\n\nNomination Deadline: Friday, March 1, 2019\n\nRules and judging criteria can be found at 3mt.wsu.edu/rules.\n\n\n\nVoiland College Qualifying Event\n\nThursday, March 7, 2019\n\nETRL 101 • 2 pm\n\nPrizes:\n\n\n\n 	1st Place: $1,500 Scholarship for Fall 2019\n\n 	2nd Place: $1,000 scholarship for Fall 2019\n\n 	3rd Place: $500 scholarship for Fall 2019\n\n\n\nWinner moves on to the WSU Competition.\n\n
