SUMMARY:Annual 5K Rabies Run – 2025
LOCATION:Bustad Hall
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the WSU Student American Veterinary Medical Association’s (SAVMA) Annual 5K Rabies Run, a fundraiser and “zombie run.”\n\nSupport the Rabies Free Africa campaign\n\nThe spooky season is almost upon us. You know what that means? Time to RUN!!!\n\nWHO\n\nAnyone! Bring your friends, family, and kids! But for the safety of the volunteers, zombies, and other runners, no animals are allowed at the event.\n\nWHY\n\nThis event promotes public awareness about how rabies and other dangerous diseases can be prevented by having pets regularly vaccinated. There will be handouts and signage at the event about rabies prevention in the United States, as well as around the world. All proceeds from the event will be directly donated to the Washington State University Rabies Free Africa campaign which provides vaccinations to dogs in east Africa with the hope of eradicating rabies entirely. Learn more at rabiesfreeafrica.org\n\nWhat to expect\n\nThe 5K Rabies Run features a one-mile “zombie loop” where vet students and volunteers dressed as zombies will try to steal your flags! Runners who enter the loop can wear a capture-the-flag belt and must dodge zombies to keep as many “lives” as possible. Each flag you bring back to the registration desk earns tickets for a gift basket drawing. Extra tickets are also awarded for costumes, so dress up and join us for a spooky, fun event for the WSU and Pullman community!\n\nHow to sign up or donate!\n\n\n\n Registration Form - required for ALL runners and participants\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions, email Emily Liu or Riana Kaya\n\n
