LOCATION:Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, 1535 Wilson Rd, Pullman, WA 99164
DESCRIPTION:Join us Friday, November 8th from 12:00pm–1:00pm for a unique tour led by David Janssen Jr., Scholarly Assistant Professor, Department of Art WSU. Hear a teaching artist’s perspective on select works in the current exhibitions, including the work of Corita Kent featured in Your Collection: Celebrating 50 Years. Open discussion among tour participants will be encouraged throughout the tour and will be facilitated by Kristin Becker, Curator of Education & Programs.\n\nDavid Janssen Jr. enjoys communicating with others through drawing, painting, collage, and typographic experimentation. He creates paintings with found objects, designs posters, and publishes zines, merging a passion for graphic design and a variety of 2D media. Mixing processes and materials—both by hand and digitally—is a rewarding challenge that keeps his creative process forgiving, heartfelt, and unpredictable.\n\nCOMMUNITY PERSPECTIVES TOURS invite individuals from our campus and wider community to speak about their unique interpretation of several works in the current exhibitions, charting connections among art, personal experience, and different disciplines.\n\nThis tour is free and open to the public, with donations welcome.\n\nLOCATION | The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU is located in the Crimson Cube (on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium and the CUB) on the WSU Pullman campus.\n\nIMAGE CAPTION: Corita Kent, i wanna hold your hand, 1965
