SUMMARY:Chemistry Seminar – John Kiernicki
LOCATION:Troy Hall, 1470 NE College Ave, Pullman, WA 99164
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. John Kiernicki, Drury University\n\nHost: Dr. Ivan Popov\n\nTitle: Controlling Hydrogen Bond Donor/Acceptor Interactions through Redox Activity\n\nAbstract: Hydrogen bonds are electrostatic by nature and, therefore, are influenced by electronic perturbations. Our lab is investigating methods to control the presence of hydrogen bonds and their strength through adjacent redox events. This talk will highlight applications of this work toward controlling metal-ligand assembly processes and designing on/off tunable organocatalysts while supplementing these studies with simplified model systems.
