DESCRIPTION:The annual Common Reading Invited Lecture for 2024 will feature “How the Other Half Eats” author Priya Fielding-Singh speaking from the CUB Senior Ballroom on the WSU Pullman campus, and featured live online lecture. Fielding-Singh&#039;s book is being used this academic year in first-year and other classes at WSU Pullman, WSU Vancouver, WSU Tri-Cities, and the Global Campus; topics from the book are featured in a wealth of programming beyond classrooms. The book helps readers understand how inequality starts on the dinner plate, with the author looking at many families&#039; eating patterns and food access. Fielding-Singh is a senior manager of research and education at the Sandberg Goldberg Bernthal Family Foundation, and a nonresident fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
