DESCRIPTION:Title: Cybersecurity Capstone Projects and Conferences\n\nSpeakers: Adam Caudle, Sean Hodgson, Puumaaya Tahiru, Emily West\n\nAbstract: In this seminar, we will hear from current and past CySER students about their experiences with cybersecurity capstone projects and cybersecurity conferences such as the BSides conference in Seattle. Capstone courses are taken by students in their senior year and involve large-scale software development projects, including requirements analysis, design, verification and project management. Sean and Puumaaya will be speaking about the projects they did in their singlesemester cybersecurity capstone course. The 2026 BSides Seattle conference was held in February and included talks such as “Usable Security: Bridging Research and Industry Practices” and “Demo Session: Google Cloud Security Engineering Team.” Adam and Emily attended this conference and will share their experiences.
