DESCRIPTION:PROGRAM\n\nAn American Quilt: a Guest Recital with Kristin Jonina Taylor, piano\n\nThis concert is an exploration of a multitude of voices from the Americas: a transcription of Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, a relatively unknown piano sonata from the 1940s by Joanne Baker, a seldom-played Joplin rag, an audience-pleasing rag by William Bolcom, a Brazilian tango by Ernesto Nazareth, and scenes from the Wasatch Mountain range in Utah by Bryan Stanley.\n\n\n\nSPONSORED BY ALLEGRO. Allegro is an umbrella Registered Student Organization that represents all music student organizations at Washington State University. Allegro aims to excite and inspire through music by partnering with student organizations to provide funding for world-renowned guest artists to perform and work one-on-one with students on the Pullman campus. Allegro receives generous funding from the Associated Students of Washington State University.
