DESCRIPTION:Title: Axiological Frameworks and Community Engaged Research\n\nAbstract: We’ll consider how axiological frameworks undergird community engaged research. We’ll reflect on the principles and values that frame our work as community engaged scholars. Often, researchers’ values/ethical principles are implied/assumed in community engaged research. However, these values are a rich site for reflection. Our values are driving factors behind how and why research happens and, therefore, are a cornerstone of reciprocal engaged research.\n\nBio: Johanna joined the faculty at Washington State University in 2017. She serves as Faculty Lead for Community Engaged Pedagogies and Research on the WSU Vancouver campus. In 2024, she was appointed to an Associate Editor role with WAC Clearinghouse’s Perspectives on Writing series. Alongside many articles and book chapters, she’s the author of Engaging Research Communities in Writing Studies: Ethics, Public Policy, and Research Design (Routledge, 2021).
