He was a consultant to Studio Canal for their 2022 release, The Railway Children Return, which uses his research on Black American GI s and Jim Crow segregation as a key plotline. This work also fed into his co-leadership with Preston Black History Group of the commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Bamber Bridge in 2023, supported by the Embassy of the United States.
