DESCRIPTION:Join new WSU School of Music faculty members, Aaron Agulay, baritone and Mark Stevens, piano for an evening of Robert Schumann's art songs.\n\nThe program begins with Op. 40, Schumann's setting of fairytales by the enormously prolific Hans Cristian Andersen, a rare opportunity to hear such an expressive sequence of songs not often performed as a set. Also on the program is Op. 48, Dichterliebe (The Poet's Love), one of the most beloved and most popular of all song cycles.\n\nBaritone, Aaron Agulay has extensive performing experience in venues and organizations worldwide, ranging from summer-stock theaters to nationally and internationally renowned opera houses such as Opernhaus Zurich, Konzert Theatre Bern, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. Pianist, Mark Stevens has a vibrant career as a solo and collaborative artist and is known for his colorful insights about music, composers, and cultural context.\n\nProceeds from ticket sales in the series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets, on sale one hour before performances in the lobby, cost $10 general admission, $5 senior citizens (55+)and non-WSU students and free for WSU students with ID.
