SUMMARY:First-Generation Graduate Student Seminar Series
LOCATION:Avery Hall
DESCRIPTION:Fridays in October—October 3, October 10, October 17, October 24\n\nThe David G. Pollart Center for Arts and Humanities is organizing its First-Generation Graduate Students Seminar Series for Fall 2025, and we are looking for both student participants and faculty facilitators.\n\nThe objective of this series is to provide First-Gen grad students and/or First-Gen international grad students (international students who are first in their families to attend college or international students who are first in their families to come to the US to attend college) with a space where they can share the challenges that they are facing in graduate school. We are planning to meet 4 times during the Fall semester for 2-hour informal discussions with a panel of facilitators. These meetings will take place 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, October 3, October 10, October 17, and October 24 in the Bundy Reading Room, Avery Hall. We will also provide dinner for all the participants. Please note that there is NO COST for participating in this series.\n\nTo participate, please complete this Qualtrics Survey by Wednesday, September 24, 2025. If you are a faculty or staff who was a First-Gen graduate student and would like to join our panel of facilitators, please reach out at arts.humanities@wsu.edu. Feel free to reach out with any questions as well.\n\nThis seminar series is open to all first-gen students at WSU Pullman irrespective of their disciplines. Please share this with your graduate students and colleagues.
