DESCRIPTION:Pulitzer Prize winning composer, John Luther Adams has been lauded for &quot;melding the physical and musical worlds into a unique artistic vision that transcends stylistic boundaries.&quot; His rarely performed work, Songbirdsongs for piccolos, percussion, and other instruments, explores the beauty of nature&#039;s music through &quot;translation&quot; and &quot;evocation&quot; of birdsong. Along with Songbirdsongs, other works for flute and percussion will be performed by guest artists Tessa Brinckman (flute) and Terry Longshore (percussion) of Caballito Negro, Chris Whyte (percussion), and WSU faculty Dave Jarvis (percussion) and Sophia Tegart (flute).\n\nSPONSORED BY ALLEGRO. Allegro is an umbrella Registered Student Organization that represents all music student organizations at Washington State University. Allegro aims to excite and inspire through music by partnering with student organizations to provide funding for world-renowned guest artists to perform and work one-on-one with students on the Pullman campus.
