SUMMARY:Ig Nobel Awards Watch Party
LOCATION:Owen Science and Engineering Library, 185 NE College Ave, Pullman, WA 99164
DESCRIPTION:Owen Science Library is holding a watch party to livestream the 34th annual Ig Nobel Prize awards! Join us to celebrate some of the most hilarious scientific findings of the past year. The theme of this year's ceremony is: Murphy's Law.\n\nStarted in 1991, the Ig Nobel prizes recognize research achievements that make people laugh, then make them think. They are named after Ignatius "Ig" Nobel, a distant (fictitious) cousin of Nobel Prize founder Alfred.\n\nLast year's winners investigated cutting-edge scientific topics like necrobotic spider grasping tools, counting cadavers' nose hairs, improving flavor with electrified tableware, and smart-toilets featuring anal recognition.\n\nEach year's awards are announced and presented by actual Nobel laureates.\n\nLight refreshments will be provided.
