SUMMARY:Ig Nobel Awards Watch Party
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:Owen Science Library is holding a watch party to livestream the 33rd annual Ig Nobel Prize awards!\n\nStarted in 1991, the Ig Nobel prizes recognize research achievements that make people laugh, then make them think. They are named after Ignatius "Ig" Nobel, a distant (fictitious) cousin of Nobel Prize founder Alfred. Last year's winners investigated cutting-edge scientific topics like mating success of constipated scorpions, the best way to turn a knob, ritual enema scenes on ancient Maya pottery, ice cream to reduce chemotherapy complications, and development of a moose crash-test dummy.\n\nJoin us as this year's awards are announced and presented by actual Nobel laureates.\n\nLight refreshments will be provided.
