SUMMARY:Interdisciplinary WSU experts discuss work linked to environmental justice

DESCRIPTION:WSU experts in diverse fields, ranging from environmental science to sociology, economics, biosystems engineering and community building, will discuss links between their work and environmental justice issues during a free, public event hosted by the School of the Environment online and in person.\n\nThe panel features educators from across the university whose work intersects the theme of “Environmental Justice in Rural America,” the topic of SoE’s 2022 Lane Family Lecture in Environmental Science. Four faculty and staff members and one graduate student will provide insights about their teaching and research as well as related engagement opportunities for WSU students and the broader community.\n\nLimited seats are still available in the CUB Junior Ballroom at WSU Pullman. Registered guests can also participate in the event online.\n\nThe panel discussion will immediately follow the Lane Lecture presented by leading water and sanitation rights activist Catherine Coleman Flowers. Her free online talk begins at noon and will be livestreamed in the CUB Junior Ballroom and viewable elsewhere via Zoom. Audience questions are welcome at registration as well as after Flowers’ presentation and during the panel discussion.\n\nCommon Reading credit available.
