SUMMARY:Museum of Art at WSU Welcomes Kolva-Sullivan Ceramics Exhibit
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:The Museum of Art/WSU is thrilled to present Ceramics From the Kolva-Sullivan Collection, Jan. 7 – March 30. There will be an opening reception Thursday, Jan. 17, 6-8 p.m. in the Museum of Art/WSU Gallery. As always, all exhibitions at the Museum are free and open to the public.\n\nThe Jim Kolva and Pat Sullivan collection is a comprehensive sampling of NW ceramic artists. Having owned and operated a Gallery in Spokane, Wash., for many years, the two have built a proverbial “who’s who” collection of northwest ceramic art. The Kolva - Sullivan Gallery, housed in a great industrial warehouse space, along with their “Soho style” loft residence has presented many exhibits that include a ceramics emphasis and new work by emerging artists.\n\nMany of these artists are alumni of the Archie Bray Foundation. The Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts is an educational institution located near Helena, Mont. Some of the best ceramic artists working in the U.S. today have graduated from the creative experience offered at Archie Bray. This exhibit will provide yet another dimension of the artistic treasures the Northwest has to offer.\n\nThe Museum of Art is located on Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium in the Fine Arts Center on the WSU Pullman campus. Gallery hours are Monday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., open until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and closed on Sundays. For more information please contact the museum at (509) 335-1910 or visit our website at http://museum.wsu.edu.
