PUBLIC NOTICE Hearing on Proposed Amendments to the Washington Administrative Code— Standards of Conduct for Students

Notice of this public hearing is hereby given in accordance with provisions of RCW 34.05.320(4). On May 19, 2020, the United States Department of Education (the Department) published amendments to its regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX). The Department’s amended regulations specify how recipients of federal financial assistance covered by Title IX (which include the University) must respond to allegations of sexual harassment. Amendments to the University’s Standards of Conduct for Students are required to comply with the Department’s amended Title IX regulations. The University will adopt the revised rules based on the statutory authority found in RCW 28B.30.150.
