DESCRIPTION:During the summer 2021, our SDC Arch 510 Studio students explored two very unique concepts in their design work:\n\nProfessor John Abell’s Studio mentored by renowned architects Chris Sharples, Partner with NYC-based SHoP Architects, and Robert Humble, Partner with Seattle-based Hybrid Architecture, explored social justice through mixed-use affordable housing in Japantown, Seattle.\n\nProfessor Ayad Rahmani’s studio challenged students to interrogate visionary potentials for rooftop life based on a dystopian short story by Alan Maskin, co-instructor of the course and a principal and owner of the global collaborative design firm Olson Kundig.\n\nPlease join us for a presentation of these fascinating proposals.\n\nOpening Reception Tuesday, November 9, 4:30PM\n\nSDC Gallery, Carpenter Hall Main Level\n\nRefreshments Served!\n\nExhibition on display November 9 - 18
