DESCRIPTION:Internationally renowned pianist Spencer Myer will perform works by Schumann, Scarlatti and more in a guest recital at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University.\n\nTickets will be for sale 30 minutes before the concert in the Bryan Hall lobby. They are free to WSU students with ID and cost $10 adults and $5 for non-WSU students and those 60 and over.\n\nMyer is a winner of the UNISA International Piano Competition (South Africa) and the New Orleans International Piano Competition. He is laureate of the William Kapell, Cleveland and Busoni international piano competitions.\n\nA supporter of education for young musicians, he will teach a guest piano master class 10 a.m.-noon and a performance class 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in Kimbrough Hall.\n\nMyer has performed as a soloist with orchestras worldwide and is a frequent guest artist at workshops. He has served on the faculty of the Baldwin-Wallace and Oberlin colleges conservatories of music. He is a graduate of the Julliard School and Stony Brook University.\n\nHe will perform three Scarlatti sonatas, Schumann’s “Fantasie in C,” Adam Schoenberg’s “Picture Etudes,” selections from William Bolcom’s “The Garden of Eden” and Samuel Barber’s “Excursions.”\n\nGeneral Admission: $10   Sr. Citizens & non-WSU Students: $5     WSU Students with ID: FREE.  Tickets are available in the lobby thirty minutes before concert time.
