DESCRIPTION:This panel presentation will highlight the collaborative work between Nez Perce Cultural Resources Programs and Washington State University to interpret Nez Perce (Nimiipuu) material culture associated with the 1877 Nez Perce War. The panelists, including two Nez Perce WSU students, will describe their work to expand traditional knowledge on the portal; they have developed video interpretations that incorporate language and archival sources. The panelists will be Nakia Williamson, director of the Cultural Resources Program of the Nez Perce Tribe; Trevor Bond, associate dean of WSU Libraries; and WSU students Nakia Cloud and Payton Sobotta.\n\nThis event is hosted by the WSU Pullman Common Reading Program.\n\nGuests can attend in person in Smith CUE 203, or virtually via Zoom.
