SUMMARY:Special Workshop: Staff as Personal First Responders
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:Human Resource Services will be hosting a special program highlighting the importance of personal preparedness in the wake of disaster. Presented by WSU Alum Marcie Maynes, President of Preparing Heroes, the highly interactive two-hour seminar features information on: \n\n * General Disaster Psychology\n\n * Thrive Away from Home\n\n * Family Reunification Planning\n\n * Sanitation\n\n * Cooking in the Dark\n\nThe premise for the training is that no matter how extensive an institutional disaster plan is, if staff members are not personally prepared to stay on site, the plan may suffer. This training goal is to provide necessary instruction to help individuals. Program originates in Pullman and is available statewide via AMS Videoconferencing Services.
