SUMMARY:Sustainability & Earth Day
LOCATION:Compton Union Building
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the CCE Public Square as a distinguished panel will discuss biochar and an upcoming Pizza for the Planet event that will produce it!\n\nThis discussion examines biochar--a charcoal-like substance made from burning organic material (also known as 'biomass') a safe and controlled process called pyrolysis. During pyrolysis, organic materials, such as used pizza boxes, are burned in a container with little oxygen. The organic material is then converted into biochar--a very stable form of carbon--almost none of which is released into the atmosphere. The heat created during pyrolysis can then be captured and used as a form of clean energy.\n\nAs with all Public Square discussions, we want to hear from you--there will be a live Q&A session in which panelists will take your questions about issues that matter most to you.\n\nThis event counts toward WSU Greek service and civic engagement requirements!
