The authors will use their experience in completing and publishing systematic and scoping reviews to highlight best practices and pitfalls in pulling together and publishing an evidence synthesis (review).\n\nObjectives:\n\nParticipants will be able to:\n\n1. Compare and contrast data extraction for systematic reviews and scoping reviews\n\n2. Discuss strategic differences when reporting results for different review types (tables and narrative summaries)\n\n3. Provide an overview of quality and bias assessment resources for scholars/researchers conducting evidence synthesis\n\n4. Describe approaches to data synthesis and writing the results and discussion sections of reviews\n\nThis activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements of the ACCME. The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is accredited by ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The COM designates this live activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
