DESCRIPTION:\n\nFeb. 23: High school singers join WSU groups in concert\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPULLMAN, Wash. – Love and community will be celebrated in a collaboration between the Pullman High School advanced choral ensemble and two Washington State University vocal groups at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, in Bryan Hall.\n\nTickets will be sold 30 minutes prior to concert time. Admission is $5 for adults and free for students, senior citizens and children under 12.\n\nWSU’s University Singers will open with Joan Szymko’s “It Takes a Village,” which draws on African rhythms and the concept of community, and James Mulholand’s “A Red, Red Rose.” The Pullman High Schools Advanced Ensemble will join the WSU singers for Allan Robert Petker’s “Come To Me, O My Love.”\n\nThe high school group will perform “Address to the Moon,” by Nathaniel Hawthorne/John Purifoy, and “Rather Be,” arranged by Mark Brymer.\n\nWSU’s VoJazz will present the swing tune “Let’s Live Again,” arranged by Rosana Eckert; “It Never Entered My Mind,” arranged by Sharon Broadley; Jennifer Barnes’ funky arrangement of the Cole Porter tune “Get Out of Town;” and Dave Barduhn’s arrangement of the jazz standard “Orange Colored Sky.”\n\nThe groups will join in the final song, “Seasons of Love” from the musical “Rent,” arranged by Roger Emerson.\n\n\n\n
