DESCRIPTION:The Thriving Authentically: Alumni Journeys from Graduation to Greatness event will feature recent alumni panelist offering students valuable industry insights regarding their chosen career paths and how they cultivated their professional and personal identities on that journey. The goal of this event is for recent graduates to share their personal and professional journeys as they transitioned from college into their current fields just a few short years after being Coug themselves. What were the hard lessons learned, and what are the things to look out for?\n\nOur event objectives include:\n\n\n\n 	Provide authentic, diverse representation in their industry and recognize and create a dialogue around the unique cultural and professional journeys.\n\n 	Provide dialogue and learning through diverse, equitable, and inclusive programming.\n\n 	Teach alumni, recent grads, and current students valuable insights from the panelists' perspectives regarding their chosen careers/ degrees and how they cultivated their professional and cultural identity.\n\n 	Through dialogue, develop an emerging awareness of the potential inequitable/unknown challenges faced by persons entering the professional world.\n\n\n\nThis event is a partnership of the Academic Success and Career Center, Cougs Connect, and WSU Alumni Association. The event will be hosted virtually via Zoom and in-person at Lighty Building 180.\n\nWe want to ensure you can fully participate in the event. Please request alternate presentation formats, sign language interpreters, and other reasonable accommodations at least five (5) days in advance of the event via email to (studentjobs@wsu.edu).\n\nAbout the Career Expo Prep Series\n\nThis session is a part of the Academic Success and Career Center's Career Expo Prep Series. The series offers a lineup of career-building workshops and events designed to help Cougs prepare for upcoming Career Expos. From resume reviews with recruiters to interview strategies and salary negotiation tips, this series covers a wide range of topics to help you confidently take the next step in your career journey.
