Alternative Spring Break Trips
About the event
Be the change this March by participating in one of three amazing Alternative Spring Break trips in March 2015. The WSU Department of Crop and Soil Sciences and Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) are offering their annual “Spring to Action, Break for Change” trip as a two-credit course entitled “Civic Engagement in Sustainable Food Systems” (AFS 250)! The class will meet for an hour each Wednesday during the semester, and over spring break, all students in the class will go on a FREE spring break trip to learn about community food, sustainable agriculture, or organic farming throughout the Pacific Northwest. You won’t find a more fun way to earn two credits or a cheaper spring break trip anywhere else! There are only 19 spots available in the class, so register early. Students must register on Zzusis before January 16, 2015.
From March 13-22, 2015, the Outdoor Recreation Center and CCE will hold two amazing Eco Adventure trips for only $375 each. Students can choose from a rock climbing trip in the Southwest desert or a brand new photography and tour trip to Yosemite Valley! On both trips, you’ll learn about environmental issues in the area and help out with some great service projects all while camping, hiking, rock climbing and more. Registration for both trips closes March 1, 2015, but there are only six spots on each trip, so register early to ensure your spot.
