Faculty Artist Series: The Music of CTI with Jazz Northwest

Washington State University School of Music proudly presents the WSU faculty jazz combo, Jazz Northwest, directed by Frederick “Dave” Snider, Tuesday, November 17th, 2015, 8:00 PM Kimbrough Concert Hall. This special concert will feature jazz compositions from the CTI Records (Creed Taylor Incorporated) catalog, founded in 1967 by producer/A&R manager Creed Taylor. JNW will perform jazz faculty arrangements of Stanley Clarke’s Bass Folk Song, Stanley Turrrentine’s Sugar, Joe Farrell’s Sound Down, Eumir Deodato’s Also Sprach Zarathustra, Chick Corea/Neville Potter’s Time’s Lie, and
Freddie Hubbard’s Red Clay and Little Sunflower. There will be a premiere of a new composition Freddie by School of Music director Gregory Yasinitsky, based on Hubbard’s Intrepid Fox.
Featured soloists will be: Gregory Yasinitsky, saxophones; David Turnbull, trumpet; David Jarvis, drums; David Hagelganz, tenor saxophone; Brian Ward, piano; Frederick “Dave” Snider, string bass and electric bass; and guitarist, Bradley Ard.

All proceeds from the sales of tickets will benefit the School of Music scholarship fund. Tickets are available in the lobby thirty minutes before concert time
