Guest Recital: Tom Marko, drum set

Visiting percussionist and WSU alumnus Dr. Tom Marko will perform with WSU Jazz faculty during a free, public concert from 6-7 PM Thursday, March 10th, in room 115 Kimbrough Hall at Washington State University. Marko will perform original compositions with saxophonist Dave Hagelganz, trumpeter Brian Ploeger, bassist Dave Snider, and pianist Brian Ward.
Tom Marko is Director of Jazz Studies at Illinois State University. Marko earned his undergraduate degree in percussion performance from Washington State University in Pullman, WA. He also earned his Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the University of South Florida in Tampa and his Doctor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Marko is very active in central Illinois and the mid-West as a performer and adjudicator. Marko’s first album as a leader, “Inner Light” will be released on Summit Records later this year.
