About the event
2024 marks the celebration of 125 years for the College of Veterinary Medicine at WSU
For this occasion, we would like to take the opportunity to honor our Cougars from the past. The Veterinary College DEI committee created the Winfred A. Jordan Awards.
Dr. Jordan, Class of 1920
Dr. Winfred A. Jordan was the first black male veterinary graduate of Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. During his long career, he served as an instructor at Delaware State College, was involved with the U.S. Bureau of Animal Industry, and was appointed by Governor William Hastle to a post in the Virgin Islands.
