About the event

Holstein cows lined up for milking in a dairy

The final session in our fall Anaerobic Dairy Digester Webinar Series draws together themes from across the webinar series. WSU’s Matt Booth will summarize emerging lessons on digester economics, permitting, and technology, informed by this series and the accompanying white paper. Georgine Yorgey, director of the WSU Energy Program, will discuss where dairy digesters fit within Washington’s broader climate and agricultural strategy, including connections to the state’s Comprehensive Climate Action Plan, the Washington dairy sector roadmap, and other relevant state initiatives. Digesters aren’t a one-size-fits-all technology, spanning RNG-generating, electricity-generating, and cover-and-flare systems, and this session explores how different approaches can support farm viability, greenhouse gas reduction, and energy resilience across Washington’s dairy sector.
