About the event

The challenge is on! The AORE Campus Challenge is a Mother-Nature-meets-March-Madness competition with 98 schools from across the country going head-to-head for four weeks to see who can get the most people outside and active.

The school with the most people outdoors wins the National Outdoor Champion title!

Just log your activities — anything from hiking or paddling outside to walking or biking around campus, even gardening or laying in a hammock! — to represent WSU and for a chance to win free outdoor gear from companies like Osprey and ORC prize packages. Find out more about the challenge at aorecampuschallenge.org.

How it works:

  1. Get the app
  2. Register under WSU
    • Show that you’ve registered to represent WSU at the ORC Rental Shop or SRC Climbing Wall to get a custom ORC sticker!
  3. Log outdoor activities Sept. 16 – Oct. 13
    • Photo entries – you must include yourself in them, even if just your hand/foot. No landscapes – prove you were there!
    • Check out what others are logging around campus and track yourself/WSU on the leaderboards
  4. Win prizes and bragging rights – Log the most activity points for WSU to win the title of Wildest Coug and the top prize package!

Get outside your way, or sign up for some awesome UREC programs with your fellow Cougs!
