Art, Culture & Conversation: Community Perspectives Tour with Dr. Ariana Maki

About the event

Join the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art WSU on Friday, October 16 from 3:00–4:00 p.m., for a Community Perspectives Tour with art historian Ariana Maki of the University of Idaho.

Dr. Maki will share her perspective on select works in the museum’s current exhibitions, including The Mirror that Nature Holds: From the Collections of Jordan Schnitzer and His Family Foundation. Participants will be encouraged to share their own observations and interpretations throughout the tour, creating an open conversation about art and the different ways we experience it.

Ariana Maki is an art historian and occasional curator who recently joined the University of Idaho as an assistant professor in Art & Design. Her research focuses on the material and visual cultures of South Asia, with particular expertise in the Himalaya.
