Brass Chamber Music

About the event

The Washington State University School of Music presents a Brass Chamber Music Concert featuring the WSU Trumpet Ensemble under the direction of Dr. David Turnbull; the WSU Trombone Choir, under the direction of Dr. Sarah Miller, and the WSU Horn Choir, under the direction of Dr. Martin King. The concert will also feature the WSU Tuba Choir, Tuba Quartet, and Brass Ensemble—all under the direction of Dr. Chris Dickey. The Trumpet Ensemble will perform the world premier of a David Turnbull arrangement of Giuseppe Verdi’s Triumphal March from Aida. This arrangement will be performed as the finale on the Festival of Trumpets Concert at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Anaheim, CA this June. Other pieces to be performed are: BoneWeek Fanfare 6 by Brad Edwards; Allegro for Tuba Quartet  by Roger Jones; Espionage by Susan Mutter; Soundings by Steve Matchett; Contrasts by Marcel G. Frank; and Canzon Quarti Toni from Sacrae Symphoniae by Giovanni Gabrieli.

This concert is open to the public and without charge.
