Cougs Care: Wildfire Restoration on Rattlesnake Slope, Benton City, WA

Off Campus
Benton City, WA 99320
Free to attend RSVP

About the event

Join fellow Tri-Cities Cougs on Earth Day (April 22) for an opportunity to restore native plants to the Rattlesnake Slope Wildlife Area, a landscape that has recently been damaged by wildfires. Help out at the volunteer table at the trailhead and hand out bags of sage and native grass seed balls for hikers to toss out as they hike along the trail. Then, grab a bag of seeds and hike along the trail yourself while you help restore this beautiful natural habitat.

All WSU alumni, friends, families, and fans are welcome to attend this Cougs Care experience. In celebration of Earth Day, a Discover pass will NOT be required to park at the trailhead. If you plan on hiking, be sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring a water bottle.

Don’t forget to wear Coug gear suitable for the weather, and we’ll see you there!

Directions

Follow WA-225 E until you reach the Rattlesnake Trailhead east of the highway.
