About the Digital Audio Collective:
The Digital Audio Collective (DAC) is an RSO that facilitates an inclusive environment for students to find collaborative opportunities, share information, and support each other in the creation of audio-based projects.
Background:
In Fall of 2023, students began to come together to form an RSO called Digital Audio Collective. This effort has created a community in/around the Libraries Dimensions Lab and more specifically, the Audio Lab. The group meets in person on Thursdays at 4:15pm in Holland room 120 and the Audio Lab. This community has supported each other, offering help with using the Audio Lab, giving feedback on music projects from peers, creating connections that have led to music collaborations, supporting and preparing students for their first-ever performances, and guiding members through the various steps of organizing music events.
Past accomplishments:
- Four DAC members perform their first ever performances at Humble Burger in Moscow
- Music for Observations 3-part series/collaboration with WSU Department of Physics and Astronomy, supported by the David G. Pollart Center for Arts and Humanities featuring two DAC members performing music for the series
- Digital Audio Collective “Synth Lab” awarded STF funding from the ASWSU, which should be available January 2026
- Spring 2025 Get Involved Fair – five members perform at a campus tabling event in 10 minutes
- DAC Presents RM Francis performance at the WSU Planetarium, a collaboration with the WSU Department of Physics and Astronomy, supported by the David G. Pollart Center for Arts and Humanities.
