About the event

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work at a National Laboratory? Do you know what goes on at a National Laboratory? What career opportunities look like at a National Laboratory? Deb Gracio will share her experiences working at PNNL, the exciting research that she has had the opportunity to be a part of and the pitfalls of working at a National Laboratory.

Deb came to PNNL in 1989 as a graduate student from Washington State University and has chartered a career
working across atmospheric sciences, computational chemistry, computational biology, biodefense and now national security broadly. Across our nation there are17 national laboratories serving the U.S. Department of Energy that have delivered solutions for more than six decades. At the Pacic Northwest National Laboratory, we advance the frontiers of knowledge, taking on some of the world’s greatest science and technology challenges. Our distinctive strengths in chemistry, earth sciences, and data analytics are the heart of our science mission, laying a foundation for innovations that improve America’s energy resiliency and enhance our national security.
