Faculty Artist Series: A Woman’s Love and Life

“A Woman’s Love and Life” will be depicted in song by Julie Anne Wieck, soprano and Karen Savage, piano on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 as part of the Washington State University School of Music’s Faculty Artist Series.  Robert Schumann’s famous song cycle, Frauenliebe und Leben, which portrays a woman’s journey from young love, through marriage, childbirth and the ultimate loss of her husband will be the centerpiece of the evening.  Another powerful song cycle, Songs from Letters:  Calamity Jane to her daughter Janey, 1880 – 1902 by American contemporary composer, Libby Larsen will also be performed.  Art songs by Vincenzo Bellini and Camille Saint-Saëns will complete the program.  The recital will be presented at 8:00 p.m. in Bryan Hall Theatre.

General Admission: $10   Sr. Citizens & non-WSU Students: $5
WSU Students with ID: FREE
All proceeds from the sales of tickets will benefit the School of Music scholarship fund. Tickets are available in the lobby thirty minutes before concert time.
