About the event

Julie Anne Wieck, soprano

Oscar Wilde once said “Music is the art which is most nigh to tears and memories.” Reminding the audience of special moments, people and places in their lives through song will be Associate Professor Julie Anne Wieck, soprano and Elena Panchenko, piano. Featured on the concert will be art songs by Roger Quilter and Ukrainian composer, Bodgana Filts, as well as selections from Claude Debussy’s Ariettes oubliées and Antonín Dvořák’s Gypsy Songs, concluding with Leonard Bernstein’s song cycle, I Hate Music.

Proceeds from ticket sales in the series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets on sale one hour before performances in the lobby. Cost: $10 general admission, $5 senior citizens (55+) and non-WSU students and free for WSU students with ID
