Jazz pianist Brian Ward

 

Jazz pianist Brian Ward will perform with his trio in a public concert at 8 PM Thursday, September 7th, in Kimbrough Concert Hall at Washington State University. Drummer Dave Jarvis and bassist Dave Bjur will join Brian in a concert of original compositions and jazz standards from his recording Palouse Skies, released on the WSU Recordings label.

Brian Ward is a keyboardist, composer, and WSU faculty member. Ward has performed with the Oregon Symphony, Bobby Torres, Curtis Salgado, Obo Addy, and many others. “City of Roses”, one of the arrangements Brian helped create for Esperanza Spalding, won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement for Vocal Performance in 2013.

Faculty Artist Series: Proceeds from ticket sales in the series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets, on sale one hour before performances in the lobby, cost $10 general admission, $5 senior citizens and non-WSU students and free for WSU students with ID.
