GIESO is recruiting!

About the event

The President’s Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) is enthusiastically accepting applications and nominations for new members from all WSU campuses. Interested staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis beginning August 1, 2020.

GIESO is a dedicated group of staff, faculty, and students working to support the LGBTQ+ community in the Washington State University system. The Commission advises the President and Associate Vice President for Community, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence about the needs and concerns of campus communities relating to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Additionally, GIESO designs and implements new initiatives through efforts with its subcommittees: Visibility, Programming, and Recognition, Recruitment/Retention, and Mentorship.

The membership application is available here. For more information about GIESO and its function, please contact Bucky McKenzie (GIESO chair) at or Chris Dickey (GIESO membership coordinator) at
