Gingerbread House University
About the event
On December 9 at 6 p.m. (PST), celebrate the season with the WSU Alumni Association as we build gingerbread houses! Join fellow alumna and Four Seasons Pastry Chef Francesca Siragusa along with student instructors as they virtually demonstrates how to build and decorate gingerbread houses.
This fun event is perfect for the entire family, your friends and roommates, or as a substitute for your weekly Zoom get-together. It’s so easy! Just grab a gingerbread house kit, purchase gingerbread structure materials (suggested shopping list here), or if you are adventurous, bake your house from scratch. Chef Mollie will discuss icing skills, demonstrate how to create decorative piping designs, and pass along decorating ideas.
You have the option to submit a video of your finished house by December 13 and then tune-in on December 16 at 6 p.m. (PST) for the live virtual Gingerbread House Competition featuring WSU President Kirk Schulz, First Lady Noel Schulz, and others! Prizes will be awarded for the best WSU-themed house and many more. Prize winners will be announced during the live competition. Enter your video submissions for the contest here.
Registration
- Registration for the gingerbread workshop is required. To sign-up, click on the crimson registration button above.
- A Zoom link will be sent to the email you used to register.
- Make sure you have the Zoom Client downloaded on your desktop or mobile device. Click here for more details.

How to Participate
- Submit a short (45 seconds max) video of a 360-degree view of your creation here by 10:00 p.m. on December 13.
- Join us for the LIVE event on Wednesday, December 16, at 6:00 p.m. (PST)
- Open to all members of the WSU Cougar nation.
