Global Campus Fisher House Fundraiser
About the event
Each year, the Washington State University Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) invites students, staff, faculty, and community members to help raise awareness of poverty issues during the week before Thanksgiving break, November 15-21, 2015. During this week, the CCE has partnered with Global Connections and ASWSU Global to hold a week long fundraising campaign in support of the Fisher House Foundation.
Fisher House provides free housing for military and veteran’s families while their family member receives treatment at major military and VA medical centers nationwide. This amazing organization served 25,000 families last year alone and is rated as an A+ charity by the American Institute of Philanthropy, meaning that Fisher House is an extremely reliable organization where 92% of donations go directly to supporting veterans. To participate in this fundraising campaign, Global Campus students are asked to make a donation of any size to Fisher House online at http://donate.fisherhouse.org during Poverty Awareness Week. After making the donation, email your name, address, and amount donated to cce.marketing@wsu.edu. If you wish to remain anonymous, simply state this in your email and provide the donation amount only. At the end of the week, the Center for Civic Engagement will share the total amount raised by Global Campus students for Fisher House along with a list of donors!
