Graduate Recital: Zachery Meier, composition

About the event

Contemporary composer and flutist Zachery S. Meier is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the School of Music at Washington State University pursuing a Masters of Arts degree with an emphasis in composition. Meier has brought creative and stunning music to the stage through both his performances and compositions. Meier has composed for a wide range of ensembles, but currently finds his interest in chamber music. Recently, Meier was highlighted as Minnesota Public Radio’s Spotlight Series young artist, hosted by Steve Staruch, accompanied with a recording of his flute choir work, Broken Pieces (2015). Also, Meier was awarded the 2015 Young Artists Concerto Competition winner for his chamber orchestra work, The Journey (2015).
