Guest Recital: David Riley, piano and Jasper Wood, violin

Violinist Jasper Wood and pianist David Riley bring a program full of virtuosic fireworks and expressive depth to the Bryan Hall Theatre stage. Anchoring the concert is Beethoven’s famous “Kreutzer” sonata as well as American composer Matthew Fuerst’s 3rd violin sonata, the world premiere recording of which was released by Wood and Riley in 2015. Captivating works from the 18th and 19th centuries round out an exciting evening of chamber music. With nearly two decades of experience as a duo, including 7 CD releases, Wood and Riley are sure to delight and inspire audiences of all ages.
Jasper Wood is Chair of the string division and Professor of violin and chamber music at the University of British Columbia, while David Riley is Professor and Director of Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music at the University of Oregon.
