Trombonist Bill Watrous will perform with the WSU Jazz Band during a free, public concert at 8 PM Tuesday, April 12, in Bryan Hall Theater at Washington State University. Student soloists and jazz faculty will join Watrous in a concert of beloved jazz standards arranged for big band from his albums Kindred Spirits and A Beautiful Friendship.
One of the finest jazz musicians of the last forty years, Watrous remains active recording and performing at colleges, festivals and conferences. Known for his beautiful tone and remarkable technique Watrous has had a long career as a studio musician, bandleader and sideman for Quincy Jones, Maynard Ferguson, Johnny Richards, and Woody Herman.
