Jazz Concert

The Washington State University School of Music will present a jazz concert free to the public at 8pm Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Kimbrough Concert Hall at Washington State University. The concert will feature WSU Jazz Band I under the direction of Brian Ward and WSU Jazz Band II under the direction of Alison Poteracke. The bands will perform works by Greg Yasinitsky, Count Basie, Maria Schneider, and our own Alison Poteracke, and will feature many of the school’s most talented soloists and ensemble musicians

WSU Jazz Band has received many honors and awards. Most recently they were invited to perform at the WMEA conference in Yakima, WA.

Poteracke is a graduate student in the School of Music. Alison is a prolific jazz composer whose music has been performed by jazz bands in the northern California region. Jazz Band I will perform her new composition Insomnia.

This concert is open to the public and without charge.
