“Jazz Wires” Album Release Concert

About the event

The WSU combo “Jazz Wires” will perform during a free, public concert at 5:30 PM Wednesday, April 4, in Kimbrough 101 at Washington State University. This performance will serve as the official concert for the recent release of the band’s first studio album “Jazz Wires”. They will be performing the recorded tunes, a mixture of original compositions and creative arrangements of jazz standards.

One of the finest jazz bands of Washington State University, “Jazz Wires” is barely three months old and is already impacting the internet and the community. Their vivid and enthusiastic spirit make every performance a unique experience. Led by Cuban Graduate student Raul Blanco, they showcase a distinctive style full of energy. The six-piece band features as one of the soloists, young saxophone player Brandt Fisher, winner at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival 2018. “Jazz Wires” is getting ready to record their second album by the end of April.

This concert is made possible by the WSU School of Music and the Jazz Society at WSU. For more info contact Sandra Albers sandra_albers@wsu.edu or Raul Blanco raul.blanco@wsu.edu.
