About the event

Spend the afternoon learning more about how Cougar VI – the sixth edition of the Washington State University Alumni Association Cougar Collectors’ Series – came to fruition during an annual Meet the Makers wine tasting.

The wine tasting event includes special guests Haydn Mouat, winemaker, and Teagh Gustin, tasting room manager, from Cougar VI producer Canoe Ridge Vineyards.

The tasting includes 2 oz. pours of Cougar VI – a Cabernet Sauvignon that is the first in the WSUAA Cougar Collector Series to be a single varietal – along with winery-exclusives 2016 Limited Edition Carmenere and 2017 Limited Edition Roussanne. Mouat and Gustin will be available to speak about each wine along with the winery, vineyard and its ties to WSU.

Tasting tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at the visitor center. A commemorative Brelsford WSU Visitor Center wine glass is included with each ticket while supplies last. Each tasting ticket will also act as a 20 percent off coupon on the purchase of a single bottle of wine. Tasting ticket coupons are not valid with other sale items.

Tickets are limited to one per person and participants must be 21 or older with proper identification. IDs will be checked at the time of ticket purchase and at the door. The event is open to all ages. Light refreshments, including coffee, water and cookies, will be provided while supplies last.

Wine tasting and ticket sales will continue until 7 p.m. while the visitor center remains open for extended hours to assist Cougar fans with any pre-game needs before Saturday’s home football game against Oregon State. Extended hours will continue Saturday and vary depending on kickoff.
