The Merry Wives of Windsor: Mom’s Weekend Opera Workshop
About the event
Otto Nicolai’s opera, The Merry Wives of Windsor, based on Shakespeare’s play, will appear on the Bryan Hall Stage during Mom’s Weekend with comedy, romance and a little fantasy. The noble Falstaff attempts to replenish his purse by wooing two wealthy married women simultaneously. Trouble ensues when these “merry wives” cleverly plot to punish him for his insolence while fending off jealous husbands. This annual School of Music production is directed by Dr. Julie Anne Wieck and accompanied by the WSU Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Danh Pham.
Tickets will be available in the lobby of Kimbrough Music Building on April 10 – 12 from 10:00 – 2:00 p.m. or at the door in Bryan Hall 1 ½ hours before each performance. The cost is $10 for students and senior citizens and $15 for general admission.
